Meet Gilligan (Hospice - Medical Hold)
I am very sweet despite the torture I have endured, I may be one of the most forgiving souls you have met!
I enjoy other dogs, preferably with calm demeanors like mine since I cannot run and play.
I love to sun bathe.
My foster mom also calls me Gilly or Gilly Goose.
I am going to need a family that respects my past and does not push me if/when I become available for adoption.

✴️✴️URGENT FOSTER REQUEST!!!✴️✴️
This poor boy ("Skipper") was picked up and taken to an emergency vet in Fresno last night after living in an abandoned house for who knows how long. :( As you can see in the videos below, he's in pretty rough shape and will need significant medical help, but he's such a sweetheart, and he deserves it!
We'll be picking him up today (stay tuned for a Facebook Live video this afternoon!) and bringing him into our program so he can recover. Like almost everything in rescue, this was unplanned, and our foster program is COMPLETELY full, but we saw him and knew he needed help, so we have to figure something out.
That's where you come in: WE NEED FOSTERS! Skipper will be going to a temp foster for a bit to recover, and so we can assess his temperament and give him time to decompress. We'll need a regular foster for him once he's ready, and additional fosters now to make room for him and other dogs and puppies currently with PCS who are ready to be moved into more 'permanent' temporary digs while they look for their forever homes.
PCS provides EVERYTHING needed to foster - food, equipment, toys, treats, etc. All that's needed from you is time, and a safe place for a foster dog to stay.
✴️If you can help, please complete a foster application ASAP!!✴️
Skipper's medical costs will likely be high, as we're not entirely sure what we're dealing with yet. To donate toward his upcoming care, please click the "DONATE" link at the top of our page.

Guess who's on his way back to Sacramento?!?
Thanks to Lupe, Stephanie, Fresno Bully Rescue, and Fresno Humane Animal Services for working together to save this sweetheart from the streets, and for helping transport him to us! Skipper, now Gilligan on his way to a temporary foster where he'll be spoiled rotten and fattened up until he's ready to find his forever home.
If you would like to foster, please complete an application.
Can't foster but would like to help? You can make a donation toward the cost of his care by clicking the "Donate" button at the top of our page.
Stay tuned for more updates on Skipper in the coming days as he gets settled in! Welcome to the good life, sweet boy - we'll make sure you're never abandoned again. ❤️❤️

SKIPPER UPDATE

Skipper now Gil aka Gilligan, is the light of our lives... He is the sweetest most forgiving, loving soul and we're blessed to have him with us.

⛵UPDATE ON GILL (Formerly Skipper!)⛵
Our sweet boy is doing so great!!! For a dog who was likely chained, starved and left for dead for at least 6 months, we would completely understand and accept any behavioral challenges he may have. We assumed he would most definitely have food aggression...but guess what?!? He is AMAZING!! He gets along with EVERYONE. He shares EVERYTHING. He couldn't be any more perfect!!!
How anyone could do this is beyond us. He's putting on weight, and has literally won over all the dogs in the home - he even lets Cosmo know, "I'm not a threat buddy, you are the boss" by licking his mouth every chance he gets! Gill, you are truly one of a kind and we are so grateful you were brought to us. You make this world a little easier to live in just by being you.... ❤️❤️
Sadly, it does appear that Gill has some major issues with his legs, but we won't know the full extent of the situation until he is healthy enough to take in to be seen - which should be soon! For now, he is enjoying lounging on the couch and cuddling with 4 other dogs.

☃ Sweet Gilligan is doing so GREAT!☃
We still cannot believe someone just left this poor boy chained up outside and moved out, for lord knows how long. But the past is just that and he will ring in the New Year as a PCS beloved Rescue dog. ❤❤
Gilligan has put on enough weight to be able to go to the vet now, so stay tuned for a more detailed update once he gets checked out by our wonderful vet at Franklin Ranch Vet Hospital!

This video is from last week, since this video, Gilligan has been seen by our Vet and they took about 100 x-rays, no really ONE HUNDRED. The prognosis is not good. He is guessing that Gilligan was either used as a bait dog or was attacked by another dog numerous times. He has significant scars that indicate puncture wounds, specifically one puncture on his right paw and x-rays that expose a previous fractures that have since healed but since he was chained up and underweight, now that he is putting on weight and walking around on it, is extremely inflamed and severely agitated, hence the limping☹ Other x-rays uncover further damage such as compressed vertebrae, also from previous trauma; SEVERE arthritis in all his joints but his elbows are the WORST, which even we can see in the imaging. Our vet does not think the compressed vertebrae is what is causing his legs to give out on him. He believes there is a neurological component that is causing this. The next step is receiving the radiologists report to verify this prognosis and our next steps. We have an appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon which is set for January 19th to determine what operations are necessary, if any. And last but not least, a referral to a neurologist for MRIs and to find out why his legs give out on him and if this is progressive in anyway.
Money is extremely tight for PCS right now with so many dogs and medical cases, so PLEASE Consider making a donation towards Gilligan's continued care so we can get him the help that he needs. All donations are tax deductible and if you're fortunate enough to be able to make a contribution $50 or more and would like to do so directly to our vet towards Gilligan's care, please private message us for details. Every penny counts and falling on hard times, we desperately NEED YOUR HELP and so do our wonderful rescue dogs❤❤
**Thank you everyone**

Hey you guys!! My foster mom was just saying the other day that we haven't checked in with everyone in some time so it's about time we do! Well I'm doing really great! I love rainy days now since I get to be inside instead of chained up outside with no shelter, food or water.... my momma says that some bad people weren't very nice to me and I almost starved to death 😢. But now I get goodies all day long and balanced, healthy meals Too! But If I get a chance to poke about in the trash still, I will. I guess old habits die hard 🙁 BUT my foster momma loves me so much, she never gets upset... she just cries alot because she says she doesn't understand how some people could be so bad and how I am still such a sweet boy. I tell her all the time she is just nuts for crying! I tell her I am A-OK and I am so happy to be safe now ❤ My body is still in alot of pain and discomfort and I have a hard time walking properly, but that doesn't stop me none!!! I will hobble about and try to keep up with the best of em!! I am super happy for my new life and my momma says, "The best is yet to come!!" Whatever that means, haha!
All I knows is... I love to love and be loved💙 I love my treats and goodies and I even share. I love my crate. I love to cuddle. I just love, love. I am great with other dogs and I even saw I funny looking dog the other day, my mom called it "Cat" (that's a silly name!), anyways I just looked at the funny animal and went right back to asking for more lovins from Auntie Kim 😍😍
My PCS people say that they still need to take me to UC Davis to be seen by a Neurologist so we will have more to update you on very soon! Until then just know I am such a happy boy and I love all humans and forgive the bad ones too....❤💙❤💙

🔵🔵FOSTER UPDATE: GILLIGAN (aka Skipper, rescue from the streets of Fresno)🔵🔵
Poor Gilly... his back legs seem to be getting worse😢💔 We're working on getting him into the UC Davis Neurological Dept to be seen. Stay tuned for opportunities to donate towards his continued care once we know what he will need🐾💛
We couldn't do it without your continued support. Gilligan is very near and dear to us. We will make sure he gets everything he needs to make him more comfortable. In the meantime he continues to hang out with foster momma Ilbra and foster siblings Cosmo, Porsha, Cookie, Hogan and Teddy, all of whom he adores ❤❤❤

🦆GILLIGAN aka Gilly Goose 🦆
After being severely neglected, nearly starved to death, and most likely used as a bait dog Gilligan is finally safe with us at PCS! He has been apart of our family for about 9 months now and while he still doesn't trust anyone but his foster mama, he is full of personality and happiness.
His back legs do not work, even after his spinal surgery however, we are still optimistic. He has recently begun peeing on own and now must wear diapers as opposed to being catheterized. His foster mom carries him around the house in the harness in this video. This supports his back while still being able to use his front legs so his front leg muscles do not atrophy.
Gilligan must have at home physical therapy and be watched almost 24/7 to ensure his spine does not get twisted. He cannot walk on his front legs too often due to severe arthritis in his elbows. He has survived a life of abuse and an intensive surgery, he has the fight to survive, please consider donating to help us pay off the thousands of dollars we still owe from his spinal surgery...
We are currently exploring the option of a wheelchair for him so he has the opportunity to get around by himself while in the house. Thank you for all of your support! We appreciate all of your generosity and prayers 💜
