❤A GIANT THANK YOU to The Schopfers who continue to support us! Thank you for believing in me and this entire group. It's because of your support that we find the strength to fight on...thank you from the bottom of my heart❤ Every little bit helps and the sweet note brought tears to me eyes, it couldn't have come at a better moment either. Seems like when I need it most, someone shows their support and appreciation as though they already knew we were struggling.❤

You guys remember how we have been asking for help to feed our sweet Teddy and Coco who are on a special diet of The Honest Kitchen?! Well at no surprise, Pet Food Express heard our prayers and sent us about TWENTY BOXES worth in our donations this pickup (not all pictured)!!! These guys are the sole reason we're able to keep our doors open and hardly ever have to buy our rescue dogs food. They donate most all of it to our organization and we couldn't be more grateful. The food you see here is just one pickups worth (we go every other month) and it doesn't include the already open bags of food which we store in large containers. So the next time you go to do some shopping for your pets, remember that Pet Food Express donates all this to hundreds of rescues REGULARLY. We won't name names but two other very large franchises that have "Pet" in their name (you know who we're referrimg to) do not donate anything to rescue organizations regularly. They would rather sell things for mere pennies than give it to non-profit organizations that save animals. We couldn't believe it ourselves when we learned of this. Our entire lives we thought they somehow gave back...helped homeless animals and rescue organizations. They are the biggest names around, it only made sense they helped communities. NOT. They do in some other ways but everything has something in it for them. At no point do they just donate to donate out of generosity. PFE doesn't ask us for anything but because of their amazing support, we are still able to rescue so we highly encourage everyone to shop there. They don't carry poor quality anything and the others do. Nothing in this store is unhealthy for your pets. Everything is top of the line and very affordable. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable in regards to nutrition.
Don't forget to mark your calendars for the PFE Bay Area Pet Fair this summer September 16-17 where there will be thousands of adoptable pets in attendance! Including Pit Crew Sacramento Rescue dogs! Thank you PFE, you guys are one in a million when it comes to your passion for supporting rescues and what we do. Thank you for helping so many of us!!!!! |
As if the Carter family doesn't already do enough - they volunteer at all our events, adopted from us, foster for us, transport dogs, manage social media (Facebook AND Instagram), lead fundraisers, correspond on our behalf with fosters, transport equipment to all the adoption events, drive to Oakland and back every other month and use their truck & trailer to haul our donations back to us, donate monetarily regularly (even when we tell them NO!) - they even STILL surprise us with supplies out of the blue.
Saying that are lucky to have them in our corner is an understatement. PCS is up and still running because of the Carter family (and Courtney, their honorary member). It's that simple. Without their love and support (never mind their constant contributions), Pit Crew Sacramento Rescue would cease to exist today. I can't tell you how many times Peggy and Cliff have talked me off the ledge (figuratively speaking of course). I can't tell you how many times I've gone to Cliff for advice and recommendations. To say "Thank you" simply doesn't begin to express what they mean to me and this rescue group. It's also the little things they do that remind me and my partners that we're not alone in this crazy life we've dedicated ourselves to.... They lent me their truck so we could go to an adoption event when they themselves were unable to attend. That trust in itself fills my heart with such honor. Then, when Cliff came to the event afterwards to swap cars, he surprised me by having had my car detailed. It may not sound like a big deal to people who wash their cars regularly, but the director of a rescue group, whose car has gone to the dogs, and I simply cannot afford to spend the time/money on it, this act of kindness meant the world to me...I was a blubbering fool when he surprised me, simply because they care. They remember the little things and they go out of their way to support PCS and me in my insane world of rescue. If you look closely you will see Peggy even sent a box of chocolates for me. Some days I live off of Reeces Peanut Butter cups and Monster energy drinks, if I eat anything at all, so this little detail tells me they are thinking of me and want to make sure I'm not starving, for the sake of the dogs. :) Pit Crew Sacramento Rescue dogs eat far better than us and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Thank you Carter Clan, a million times over. You guys are truly my guardian angels. ~Love, Ilbra |
Just like I always say, the moment I think I'm at the end of my rope and I have two choices: tie a knot and hang on OR tie it around my neck and jump ship... something happens that renews my drive. Today it was this gift in the mail, totally unexpected, that did the trick. "Ilbra, we saw this on our trip and instantly thought of you :)" From The Breece family who adopted nearly 2 years ago and still foster to this day ☺☺
Thank you Heather, Robert and clan! You have no idea how much I needed this little push! ~Love you all, Ilbra |
A HUGE THANK YOU to Pet Food Express Roseville for the 50 boxes of Bocce's Bakery dog biscuits!! We're not sure if you guys know but PFE donates all of their damaged boxes of perfectly great product to rescues! We're just one of many groups that is still in business because of their generosity. Can you imagine how much it costs to feed 50+ high quality dogs food and treats??? Well thanks to PFE and their unmatched generosity, our foster dogs are never hungry! We love PFE and all their incredible staff and support. We had mentioned in passing that we could use more biscuits if they came across any that could no longer be sold for some reason or another and the very next day they had shipped 10 boxes (6 boxes of biscuits in each box) to the Roseville store for us! How incredibly generous is that?! We're so grateful for their support and we appreciate them more than words can describe. Pit Crew Sacramento Rescue dogs are always well fed and happy thanks to PFE! So the next time you need to do a little shopping for your pets, make sure you go to your local Pet Food Express and support their business. They go above and beyond for non-profit rescue groups!

Here at Pit Crew Sacramento Rescue we are very fortunate to have some amazing supporters, one of which is Pet Food Express. Thanks to PFE and individual donors, we often have overflow of specific items such as trial size treats, natural balance rolls, smaller leashes, etc. We proudly take these items and create doggie care packages for those less fortunate than us that are homeless but love and care for their Pit Bulls and other breed dogs, very much! Often times they take better care of their pets than they do themselves and we are honored to help them in anyway we can. We have payed to have several vaccinated and spayed and neutered, we have supplied large bags of dog food to various homeless communities who have bound together for survival, etc. Some might argue we should find their dogs new homes but these people love their dogs very much... for many of them, they are their saving grace. We wouldn't dare take that away. Also, have you EVER seen an unruly dog that belongs to someone like this? The answer is NO. That is because they get TONS of exercise which stabilizes their energy level and ultimately effects their behavior. They are also always super socialized since they get tons of exposure as well! Honestly, some pet owners could learn a thing or two from these owners... if you have any issues with your dog's behavior, exercise them more and spend more time one on one taking them places and being with them in different environments.
We are proud to help these folks when we can and if you ever have items you'd like to donate towards our care packages, please private message us. *Bless You |
Stuffed Goodies to keep your dogs happy! Ever wonder what to do with those empty bones once the filling is gone? Or need a healthy alternative to Peanut Butter for your Kong stuffing? Our Pit Crew Sacramento Rescue foster dogs enjoy a stuffed Kong daily when they are being crated, so they LOVE when it's time to "crate-up". Just take your Kongs, hollow bones, hollow chews and hollow horns, etc, and fill them with various stuffers. Some of our favorites as healthy alternatives are Coconut oil, pumpkin, freeze dried raw food or high quality canned food. We freeze them overnight and each dog gets a yummy frozen Kong when we leave for work the next morning. You can also make this a meal alternative and stuff their regular kibble in the Kong with wet food or coconut oil too. This is a great idea for rainy days and other times when your dog needs something to keep them busy and not to mention very happy! Unlike humans, dogs release endorphins when they chew and lick as well, so the work to get out the frozen goodness is a great way to exert some energy as well as a wonderful way to crate train. All of PCS' dogs are fully crate trained and LOVE their crates, mostly because they get their delicious Kongs when they go in their crates. Try this out with your pooches and you'll be glad you did! Pet Food Express Roseville carries all sorts of Kongs, bones and horns great for this purpose! This is also an excellent distraction for high anxiety dogs. Your pups will thank you!

A HUGE thank you to Pet Food Express for their continued support of Pit Crew Sacramento Rescue! Our foster dogs eat the best of the best thanks to this amazing corporation that so generously supplies us with high quality dog food, treats, crates, and all sorts of necessary supplies regularly! We are so lucky to have them backing us and we would most certainly have had to shut down by now without them. With all our medical costs and major medical rescue cases, we are almost always in the red as it is. Now add that to having to feed 50 some odd dogs and supply all their necessities! We are extremely blessed!
~Feeling very fortunate and exceedingly grateful~ ❤️💛💚💙💜 |

****A HUGE THANK YOU to Max and Neo Dog Gear for our amazing new dog gear****
How AWESOME is this company?!?! For every single item sold, they donate one to a rescue! Literally! You buy a collar? Rescues like us get a collar, multiplied by however many are sold!! We just received our first donation from Max & Neo Quality Dog Gear and we couldn't be more excited!!!! These are some of the highest quality collars and leashes we've ever seen! Not to mention how bad-a** they look! PCS dogs will be rocking these new digs at all of our adoption events so be sure to make your next purchase of dog gear from Max & Neo!!!! They also have martingale collars that we strongly encourage all Bully breed owners to use! Our pooches are escape artists but they aren't going anywhere in their new, freaking awesome Max & Neo Martingale!!!!! |
We LOVE when our fosters dogs receive care packages! This one in particular is especially special to us. A potential adopter for one of our puppies went the extra mile to show their appreciation and support for Pit Crew Sacramento Rescue even after the adoption wasn't a match. There is a reason we take multiple steps prior to finalizing an adoption and in this case, the resident dog did not warm up to our puppy. We made our recommendations as to how to work with their dog as well as recommended some trainers for behavior modification. We also offered to help them socialize their dog more by taking pack walks and meeting some of our awesome, bomb proof dogs! They were extremely upset it didn't work out and they had already fallen for sweet Belle. HOWEVER seeing dogs from time to time or having play dates is VERY different from having another dog in the resident dogs home and with their family. They would have never guessed this dog would react this way, but we warned them it was a possibility and slow introductions was crucial. After about 24 hours it was clear that their own dog needed some training all of her own before they can think about adding a second dog and we were happy to oblige. We don't want anyone or any dogs to be uncomfortable or at risk for any reason so with that said, we look forward to having them come back to PCS when they are ready to add their second dog to the home!! Thank you for trusting us, believing in our mission and most importantly understanding what is best for your dog and Belle. We are very grateful to have you in our corner!!

A SPECIAL THANK YOU to our sweet pup Rizzo and her parents who ALWAYS surprise us with gifts and supplies for our foster dogs!!! On Christmas they told their friends and family they didn't want gifts, instead they asked for donations off our wishlist for Pit Crew Sacramento Rescue! How freakin awesome is that! As if that wasn't enough in itself, they continue to surprise us with supplies we need all the time! They adopted Rizzo from us, now Bailey, and since then they have been HUGE Pit Bull advocates and supporters of our organization. We are so blessed and grateful for people like you!! We are challenged with haters almost daily... they get mad at us that we don't take their dog of 9 years because they are moving OR they get angry that we are honest with them regarding what happens in the shelter when they take in a Pit mix OR they go on a rampage because we didn't rescue that ONE dog they saw online once but they didn't offer to foster or help in anyway...and our personal favorite, they get pissed when we deny their application because they don't meet our standards in someway shape or form, they don't fit the needs of that particular dog or whatever our reasoning might be. So day in and day out we spend every waking hour pouring over applications, asking for clarification, screening their responses to ensure the dogs we rescue are never, ever put in harms way again! Well we have a 100% success rate and in over a year, have not had a dog returned to us after the trial period and the adoption is finalized. BUT please, tell us how YOU know better than us... you don't think we want to find them all homes? It just needs to be the right home or we will put our foster dogs through unnecessary stress and transition. We stand firm by our process and it works out best for
the dogs we save. So THANK YOU Bailey and Family for always standing by us, despite what the hurdle. You guys give us strength and it's because of you Bailey is alive today. Anyone else would have given up on her and her medical issues long ago. She is so blessed to have your unconditional love for the rest of her life. Lord knows she's been through enough and she deserves nothing short of the absolute best! We love you guys dearly!!! And thank you to whomever sent us the puppy pads and medicated shampoo! There wasn't a note but we wanted to show our appreciation! *HUGS* |
**HOW AWESOME**
A GIANT Thank You to Shannon Carl for thinking of our Pit Crew Rescue foster pooches! Our demodex and skin allergy babies Oliver, Princess, Babs, Teddy and Coco will benefit greatly from the medicated shampoo, coconut oil and fish oil food supplement! Our newly crate trained dogs Baby, Short Stack and Wilma will be super happy and occupied with their giant Redbarn filled Bones andKong brand treat dispensing toy and Kong Wubba!! We literally just ran out of micro chips so it was perfect timing to receive another one! Can't have our dogs ever lost and in harms way again and thanks to you, they won't be:) Bless your enormous, generous heart, and from the bottom of ours, we thank you. ~Pit Crew Sacramento Rescue Members & Foster Doggies |
PET FOOD EXPRESS
This $1200 donation from Pet Food Express was such an unexpected but appreciated surprise! The number of dogs in our foster program has tripled over the past year, causing our insurance costs to more than double. PFE's Giving Tree Fund raised nearly $135,000 company-wide, which was distributed amongst the rescues and shelters that they support, and we were lucky enough to benefit! We've said it before and we'll say it again: without Pet Food Express, who knows where Pit Crew would be? They've helped us time and again and enabled us to continue rescuing. We are SO grateful to have the support of such an amazing company! |
